Reducing Pain Social Media Graphics 1366 x 768 px NEW PACKSHOTS for The Wells Physio Tunbr

The Wells Physiotherapy & Sports Clinic now offers hyaluronic acid injections to lubricate joints and steroid injections to relieve inflammation and pain in joints.

We do not inject the face, spine, neck or hip joints

Cortisone (steroid) is injected into or around the joints. Cortisone is a powerful anti- inflammatory and works by reducing pain and swelling.
Sometimes, saline or local anaesthetic is used as part of the injection procedure.

  • To reduce or eliminate pain

  • To confirm or exclude a diagnosis.

Sometimes it can be difficult to pinpoint the exact cause of your pain. An injection can be helpful in giving an accurate diagnosis.

Hyaluronic acid injections are effective for mild to moderate osteoarthritis.  With anti-inflammatory properties hyaluronic acid helps to reduce pain for up to nine months. There are no side-effects and the injections can be repeated if beneficial.

  • To reduce pain to allow you to do your rehabilitation

  • If you have high pain levels that are not settling

  • If you cannot take anti-inflammatory medication orally or they are ineffective
